Mike Beam is Lauren’s husband and he misses her every day. After losing Lauren, Mike retired from his job as a litigator at a prominent New York law firm to learn more about cancer. After completing pre-medical coursework, he started medical school at the University of California, San Francisco in 2015. Ultimately he hopes to go into oncology to help others who are fighting this terrible disease.
In his free time, he loves running, hiking, biking, golfing and anything that lets him enjoy the great outdoors.

Dana met Lauren on the NYU campus way back in 1996. They had the same major (nutrition), then became roommates and amazing friends – as their love of running, racing, and guacamole kindled their long time friendship! Lauren inspired Dana to try triathlons and helped this former soccer player to swim in open water. She has since done many, including the half-ironman distance race.
After gaining her BS from NYU, Dana has worked for Eli Lilly for the past 15 years and has been in a sales leadership role for the last 10, coaching a sales team in the cardiovascular space. She is married to a fellow exercise nut and they have 2 children. They are also big time dog lovers! They have 2 Labradoodles and have trained one of them as a therapy dog to work in local hospitals.

Nikki met Lauren in 1997, when she worked as Women’s Assistant Swim Coach at NYU. They became close friends and their lives intertwined into that of “family” that all New York City transplants end of making, especially after she introduced Lauren to Mike Beam in 1999.
Nikki has practiced law since 2003, with the largest part of her career practicing sports law first at the NFL and now at Speedo. A competitive swimmer and avid runner her entire life, Nikki did her first triathlon in 2011 on Lauren’s bike and many since then (still on Lauren’s bike!). She has three amazing children that keep her humble and in awe of the world.

PJ has been a book publishing professional for 20 years.
