Who We’ve Helped

In January 2014, The Lauren Beam Foundation made its support application live, and to date has distributed $61,800 to 14 deserving individuals, including:

A 22 year-old woman with advanced osteosarcoma receiving treatment three hours from home. The Lauren Beam Foundation provided financial aid to help with travel and lodging expenses associated with in-patient chemotherapy treatment sessions.

A 29 year-old woman with recurrent Ewing’s sarcoma who was forced to miss work as a 911 operator due to her treatment regimen. The Lauren Beam Foundation provided funds to help cover her Cobra insurance payments due to her inability to work while on medication.

A 32 year-old father of two small children, a physical education teacher with Stage III stomach cancer. The Lauren Beam Foundation provided funds that will help sustain his household while he is unable to work during treatment.

A young mother in her early 30s suffering from advanced cervical cancer.  The Lauren Beam Foundation provided funds to help with expenses due to the need to travel to another city for chemotherapy treatments.

A 31 year-old father of three diagnosed with myxoid liposarcoma.  The Lauren Beam Foundation provided funds to help cover the family’s lodging expenses during the man’s recovery from surgery.

A young mother in her mid-30s diagnosed with Stage III breast cancer that required several surgical procedures, including reconstructive surgery.  The Lauren Beam Foundation provided financial assistance to help with travel and lodging costs associated with those procedures.

A 37 year-old mother undergoing multiple rounds of chemotherapy for Stage III breast cancer.  The Lauren Beam Foundation provided funds to help with expenses related to her treatment.

A woman in her 30s who underwent a complete hysterectomy related to her treatment for ovarian cancer. The Lauren Beam Foundation provided funds to help with medical bills and expenses related to using a gestational carrier to start a family.

A 37 year-old mother udiagnosed with advanced leukemia. The Lauren Beam Foundation provided funds to help pay medical expenses not covered by insurance.

A woman in her early 40s diagnosed with Stage IV breast cancer. The Lauren Beam Foundation provided funds to help pay for treatment-related expenses not covered by insurance.

A single father in his early 40s diagnosed with a rare type of bone cancer. The Lauren Beam Foundation provided funds to help with expenses caused by his illness and inability to work.

This is just the beginning. With your donations, The Lauren Beam Foundation can continue to raise money, identify qualified individuals who embody Lauren’s spirit of tenacity and kindness, and help them in their fight against cancer.
